Much TV: Is this Causing Early Puberty?
Italian
researchers recently announced that watching too much television
might accelerate puberty among our children. They suggest
that light and radiation from television screens and possibly
even computer screens disturbs the production of melatonin,
believed to be the hormone that can prevent early onset of
puberty.
While additional studies about the relationship between television
and early puberty need to be conducted, the suggestion that
too much television may be bad for our kids is nothing new.
Does
watching too much television promote attention deficit disorder?
Violent behavior? And, perhaps, early puberty?
What
are your views? What are your concerns? How much television
is too much for your family?
We
want to hear from you.
